History

The Men on the Wall

In 1913, they were involved in fighting off the Martians which was a battle that they earned their stripes. The battle became the source for H.G. Wells work though he omitted the existence of the Men on the Wall. For decades, they had manned the Wall and remained in silent until the arrival of the Entari who were a race of alien slavers that began to operate on Earth. This eventually led to Stafford deciding to put down his shield in defending the wall and pick up the sword to proactively eliminate the threat. Stafford discovered during one of the Entari slaving missions that had struck a group of Native Americans where a young Woody McCord resided with his family. McCord's family were taken by the Entari but Woody was saved by Stafford who took the boy to his hidden mountain base for the next few years. Stafford had sought revenge against the Entari and orchestrated an encounter with them when they dispatched commandos that attacked McCord in order to eliminate his leader. In response, Stafford eliminated the aliens and confronted them in space where he killed the Entari commander Dreel along with her men. He then decided to abandon his post and passed his responsibilities to Woodrow McCord who now became the sole member of the group. He then continued in the role as the lone Man on the Wall who defended Earth. (Original Sin Annual v1 #1)

Overview

In appearance, the Men on the Wall was a specialized defense organization whose core early 20th-century roster consisted entirely of adult human males and females. They featured a standard bipedal physical framework that mirrored baseline human anatomy, presenting four distinct limbs, ten fingers, and ten toes. The organization possessed varying individual facial profiles, hair textures, and statures, with separate operatives utilizing high-tech tactical garments rather than standard state military uniforms to preserve complete anonymity while operating in public spaces. Their garments consisted of dark, weathered civilian suits layered with heavy fabric trench coats, plain trousers, and durable leather service boots. Individual operatives openly wore specialized equipment harnesses to secure high-grade technological weapons, avoiding any identifiable unit insignias or national emblems to leave absolutely no physical trace behind at their secret engagement sites. (Original Sin Annual v1 #1)

They relied on their collective histories as master marksmen and stealth-based tacticians to execute surgical counter-espionage maneuvers, navigate complex urban battlefields unnoticed, and conduct precise preemptive orbital strikes against invading fleets. They did not possess innate superhuman strength, genetic energy projection, or organic supernatural magic, relying instead on exceptionally high intellect and highly advanced, unrevealed alien technologies. This specialized technology allowed them to completely bypass standard planetary tracking grids, match the raw firepower of interplanetary war councils, and wield powerful blaster firearms capable of disintegrating Entari commandos. Their primary capabilities allowed them to steer the course of cosmic conflicts from behind closed doors, maintain absolute informational blockades regarding extraterrestrial contact, and execute high-stakes executions of cosmic tyrants out in deep space. This group were stated to man an impenetrable wall that was the defence of the planet. They operated alone and with complete autonomy as they needed to operate beyond the constraints of any rules. (Original Sin Annual v1 #1)
