Mercer

Mercer was Cutler Beckett's personal assistant. He was also a skilled spy and assassin, and did whatever he could to further Beckett's agenda. Mercer followed Elizabeth Swann from Port Royal to Tortuga. Following the betrayal and death of Admiral Norrington, Beckett assigned Mercer to serve as Davy Jones' keeper aboard the Flying Dutchman. Mercer served in this capacity until his death at the hands of Jones who used his tentacle-beard to suffocate Beckett's assistant.
