Biography

Ken Mack was a male human who was born in the modern age on Earth. He lived in Hawaii where he came to be a surfer by the time he was 16 years old where he had a laid back and carefree attitude. Whilst surfing, he was hit by another surfer whose board ripped away part of his face. Mack was then taken to the mainland after seeing the extent of the injury that showed a red iridium-like skull beneath the flesh. He was then taken away for treatment where he was brought under the supervision of Norman Osborn who claimed to be capable of helping him. Among the scientists that were part of his staff was Dr. Baron Von Blitzschlag who explained that the trauma accelerated his transformation which had already been taking place. Osborn assured Ken that he would help turn him back to normal but instead accelerated the transformative process thus completelly changing his body into the iridium based substance. (Avengers Academy v1 #4)

He joined his classmates as they toured the Raft where they separated from their comrades as part of a plan to find the cell holding Norman Osborn. Veil joined Mettle and Hazmat in searching for the cell where they told Madeline that they wanted to find a cure from him. However, in reality, Mettle and Hazmat wanted revenge on Norman for destroying their lives. (Avengers Academy v1 #4)
