Minerva McGonagall is a female literary character who features in Harry Potter.

Biography

Minerva McGonagall was a female human born half-blood witch on 4 October 1935 in Scotland where her father Robert McGonagall was a Muggle whilst her mother Isobel Ross was a witch. She was the couple's first child who named her after her mother's grandmother who was a very powerful witch. At this point, she and her parents lived on the outskirts of Caithness in the Scottish Highlands in a village where mostly Muggles lived.

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Minerva McGonagall was a tall, rather severe-looking, and sprightly seventy-year-old woman.

She was noted for her perceptiveness where she could spot trouble quicker than any teacher in the school.

Powers and abilities

In time, she was said to had been a gifted Transfiguration student.

It was noted that she was a registered Animagus and could transform herself into a tabby cat at will.
