Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
In June, 1945, Germany surrendered to the U.S. after Hitler’s suicide, but Captain Nazi staid loyal to his cause, and started operations in the U.S. He kidnapped Spy Smasher and tortured him for information about La Paloma, a freighter from South America containing items for Nazi’s mission. Smasher was rescued by Bulletman and Minute Man., but Nazi ordered his men to sacrifice themselves by blowing up their hq in an attempt to kill the heroes while Nazi made his escape. Nazi flew to sea, wrecked a liner to distract the heroes, who’d survived and were on his tail, and located La Paloma. (The Power of Shazam! v1 #8)
Later in 1955, Blaze unleashed the Seven Deadly Sins on Fawcett. Shazam combated them with his heroes Spy Smasher, Minute Man, Mr. Scarlet, Bulletman and Bulletgirl. Shazam used a spell of containment to trap the Sins inside ridiculous statues, and he kept them for safekeeping at the Rock of Eternity. (The Power of Shazam! v1 #12)
Billy Batson, the superhero Captain Marvel, was at WHIZ when the station conducted an interview with retired WWII heroes Minute Man, Bulletman and Spy Smasher. They related a story about how they battled Captain Nazi after the war, he was after the cargo of La Paloma, a freighter from South America, and although they busted up his Nazi ring, he made off with a cryogenic chamber. Nazi was in the news because he’d emerged from suspended animation. (The Power of Shazam! v1 #8)
Jack Weston and his children and grandchildren were all murdered in their sleep by an unnamed assassin in their home in Clearwater, Florida. Minute-Man was one of three patriotic superhero bloodlines destroyed by the efforts of the immortal Vandal Savage, the other superhero legacies killed were Mr. America, Commander Steel and General Glory. Vandal Savage wished to stop the prevalence of relatives taking on the heroic identities and/or powers of their loved ones.

- Minute-Man was created by Charlie Sultan where he made his first appearance in Fawcett Comics Master Comics v1 #11 (February, 1941).
- In American Comic Book Chronicles: 1940-1944, Kurt Mitchell and Roy Thomas discussed the merits of the early Minute-Man stories: "The strip began as a lazy imitation of Captain America: given a top-secret commission to ferret out and smash subversive threats to the nation as the patriotically garbed Minute-Man, Jack Weston posed as an ordinary private as cover. There was no origin, no explanation for his extraordinary fighting prowess, no kid sidekick or grotesque Nazi villains, for Minute-Man was stuck in the world of fictitious fascist nations that [Joe] Simon and [Jack] Kirby scorned as too timid for the times".
