History
Ivo spent his life attempting to find the drug with none believing it existed. (Episode: The Promise) He made attempts at replicating the formula from the original World War II Japanese research but failed in creating a valid serum. His obsession with this serum consumed his life turning him into a villainous person who embarked on a quest to recover the Mirakuru. (Episode: The Man Under the Hood)
In order to prevent it falling into Ivo's hands, Oliver Queen convinced Slade Wilson to destroy the Mirakuru. Though Wilson agreed, he secretly removed the drug and put dirt in the box container which was burnt. Onboard the Amazo, he revealed that he kept the Mirakuru after he learnt that Oliver Queen was partly responsible for the death of Shado when he chose Sara over her. (Episode: The Promise)
To prevent himself from being killed by his former test subjects, Anthony Ivo claimed that there was a cure for the Mirakuru that could be used to remove Slade's enhanced abilities after he turned against Oliver Queen. (Episode: The Man Under the Hood)
When Isabel Roachev took control of Queen Consolidated, she had its Applied Science Division to replicating the Mirakuru based on samples of Slade Wilson's blood in order for him to use it for his army. (Episode: Deathstroke) In order to stop him from making an army of living weapons, Team Arrow sabotaged the warehouse laboratory and destroyed it. Afterwards, Slade stole a prototype biotransfuser in order to metabolize the serum in his blood and transfer it to several prisoners released from Iron Heights. (Episode: The Man Under the Hood)
