The Moebius Stone
The reassembled mystical artifact forged by Agamotto unleashed a catastrophic global wave of accelerated aging and devastating vitality loss across the entire civilian population. Having successfully tracked down and unified the final scattered shards of the ancient item from a graveyard, the powerful sorceress Malachi harnessed its complete localized time-manipulation capabilities. The device functioned as an absolute source of power that permitted its wielder to indefinitely sustain eternal youth and drain the ambient life-force of others on a massive scale. To directly halt the world-threatening distortion, Doctor Druid led his elite team of Secret Defenders into a direct confrontation against the empowered sorceress. During the chaotic mystic battle, the heroes fought to intercept Malachi's eldritch energy blasts, bypass her mind-control barriers, and break her absolute hold over the reassembled object before the localized temporal disruption could permanently wither the planet's collective life-force. (Secret Defenders v1 #16) The reassembled mystical artifact generated an escalating distortion wave that threatened to permanently rupture the entire space-time continuum. Malachi embraced her megalomaniacal desires to the fullest, intending to permanently sustain the resurrection of her long-lost lover Korahn, but he flatly rejected the temporal violation and pleaded to be returned to his natural state of rest. Distraught by the rejection, Malachi threatened to end her own life, a surge of despair that further amplified the artifact's volatile reality-warping feedback. A demonic entity resembling Doctor Strange suddenly materialized to intercept the clash, claiming supreme ownership over the object and forbidding Doctor Druid from claiming its powers. Doctor Druid successfully pierced through the deception, convincing his fellow Secret Defenders that the interloper was a false projection, which allowed Luke to break the hostile line, seize the active time relic, and throw it to Druid. Channelling his amplified personal magic directly through the reassembled device, Doctor Druid completely reversed the global vitality loss, restored the civilian population back to health, and safely stabilized the timeline. The supreme output instantly vaporized Malachi and caused the core of the Moebius Stone to completely vanish, leaving behind only a tiny, entirely depowered fragment of physical rock destined to be returned to the museum vault.
