Moloch (Dungeons and Dragons)

Moloch was a former member of the Lords of the Nine, rulers of Baator. He ruled the sixth layer of that foul plane, Malbolge, and was exiled after attempting to wrest control of Baator from its ruler, Asmodeus. The banished archdevil eventually gathered forces and tried to stage an attack on Baator. However, his plans were ruined by a group of adventurers who stole the Stone of Corbinet, cutting their collapsing world off from the planes. Seeking revenge, he slew the adventurers' loved ones and turned them into particularly foul flesh golems, then attacked them personally. On the brink of defeat, Moloch escaped, and may yet be plotting his vengeance.
