Moloch (Watchmen)

Moloch was one of the greater villains of the 1960s, Moloch often clashed with heroes like the Comedian, Doctor Manhattan, and Rorschach. He was a stage magician and hypnotist who also became a prominent crime lord.

However, in later years, he contracted cancer after serving as part of Ozymandias' plot to bring world peace. Moloch retired, but when he came dangerously close to leading Rorschach into uncovering Ozymandias' plan, he was murdered and the vigilante framed for the crime.
