- In Defenders of the Earth, Mongo appeared in the setting of the animated television series. Long ago, it was said to had been ruled by a brutal demonic magical tyrant named Suramong until he was defeated. Ming the Merciless came to rule it where it became a icy barren world where he maintained his rule through his Ice Robots that were led by Garax. He was eventually forced to leave Mongo in an attempt to conquer Earth with the planet falling under the custodianship of his son Prince Krotan.
Films
- In Flash Gordon, Mongo appeared in the setting of the 1980 live-action film. It floated through space where Emperor Ming used its advanced technology to conquer other worlds. One of his subordinates was General Kala who helped command his military forces.
