Biography

Monsieur Ming

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Monsieur Ming was a tall, well-built Asian man of the indeterminable age. He was always dressed in a black suit, similar to that of a clergy man. Following an encounter with Bob Morane, Ming lost his right hand, which he soon had replaced with a robotic replica. He was also known by the name of L'Ombre Jaune ("The Yellow Shadow") which supposedly came as a result of his relentless fight in the shadows where he would succeed in the yellow of light.

It was said that he was a descendant of the Ming dynasty.

He was shown as being very fond of his niece Tania Orloff providing her with money as well as taking care of her education. However, this generosity has not prevented Tania from siding with Morane to thwart her uncle's plans for world domination.

Ming harbored a deep respect for Bob Morane, whom he regarded as his only worthy adversary.

Powers and abilities

Monsieur Ming also has a small transmitter located inside his brain. Whenever Ming was mortally wounded, the transmitter transferred his conscience to a clone body that was created by a duplicator which was hidden in a remote location. Such a practice thus rendered Ming effectively immortal.

He was the leader of the Shin-Tan that were an occult terrorist organization dedicated to the destruction of modern civilization, which it had judged as too industrialized.
