History
Muirfield was a company formed by the modern age where they performed scientific and medical experiments.
At some point, they had uncovered the remains of beast-like humanoids that once populated the planet around 10,000 years ago and managed to create a serum that turned humans into such creatures. (Episode: Ancestors) One of the architects of Muirfield was a geneticist by the name of Li Zhao who was responsible for the creation of beast-human hybrids for use in black ops missions. (Episode: Who Am I?)
The first generation of Beast included Curt Windsor who volunteered for the first experiments who put a considerable investment in him. (Episode: Father Knows Best) Around 18 months ago, 7 million dollars were paid by crime lord Carlos Hernandez to a subsidiary owned by Zhao for a beast enhanced human to serve as his enforcer. (Episode: Kidnapped) One breed of beast that was created were fire resistant with it being believed that Muirfield engineered such specimens to clear blazing inferno sites in order to gain a profit from such expert fire-fighters. A specimen of this type was created with Eddie Long being used as a test subject. (Episode: Hothead) Around a year ago, a pair of soldiers stationed in Afghanistan named Vincent Keller and Zachary Hayes were selected beast supersoldiers. (Episode: Reunion) At some point, another test subject was Sebastian Clifton who was the son of the wealthy Nigel Clifton who owned several art galleries. During the targeted destruction of Muirfield, Sebastian managed to escape from the carnage where he went into hiding. (Episode: Liar, Liar) Around three years ago, Curt Windsor began to use his Beast enhanced powers to kill rivals. (Episode: Father Knows Best)
With Vincent captured, Robert Reynolds proceeded to brainwash him in order to use him as an operative to eliminate the other beasts. (Episode: Man or Beast?) Vincent would act as an assassin and was dispatched secretly to eliminate Zhao though he managed to escape. Detective Catherine Chandler managed to tranquilize Vincent and attempted to get him to remember his past but he would escape in order to continue his mission. He was later redeployed on his mission to find and eliminate Zhao. He managed to track him to his headquarters where during the incident the floor of the building exploded following a gas leak. Despite the destruction of Muirfield, Zhao managed to escape where it was believed that he would re-create the organization. (Episode: Who Am I?) Afterwards, Vincent seemingly killed Zhao with this act appearing to had destroyed Muirfield. (Episode: Kidnapped) It was discovered that Muirfield had sold beast enhanced humans for profit with multiple such exchanges being made during the company's operations. In this time, Sebastian Clifton intended to kill his own father for his part in his transformation but was killed by Vincent. (Episode: Liar, Liar) Afterwards, another Muirfield experiment namely Eddie Long began embarking on an arsonist spree throughout the city. (Episode: Hothead)
Despite the destruction of Muirfield, factions in the world sought to recreate the serum involving cross-species DNA in order to create new beasts and kidnapped J.T. Forbes to accomplish this task. (Episode: Recipe for Disaster)
