NEXT are a species that feature in Tiger & Bunny.

History

Noted Entities with eXtraordinary Talents (NEXT) were humans with superpowered abilities that first began to emerge 45 years ago among mankind on Earth.

The secret organization known as Ouroboros were known to take in NEXT with useful powers regardless of their background and motives.

Overview

In appearance, NEXT were humans that were born with superhuman abilities that varied between person to person.

It was said that they could not be identified until the activation of their powers.

Awakening was the term used for when a NEXT's powers first start to emerge. Most NEXT could be identified by the blue glow that surrounds their body when their powers are active - as well as their eyes glowing the same blue.

Generally, NEXT only possessed a single power that they could use at a time. However, rare number of their kind came to emerge that had least two abilities available to them.

In rare instances, a NEXT's powers can change. Information regarding the phenomenon is so scarce.

• Mr. Legend (Mr. レジェンド) : Sternbild City's first NEXT hero where he had the Hundred Power which he used to debut on Hero TV years ago. He was the one who inspired Kotetsu to accept his powers and use them to protect people. He was killed by his son, who became the vigilante Lunatic.
• L. L. Audun : a NEXT with Hundred Power, considered by some to be the most powerful NEXT ever. He was not permitted to be a hero by the Judicial Agency due to the fact that his father was a criminal (both a wise and sorely discriminatory law), so he worked as a rogue hero. He was Mr. Legend's greatest rival and one of the greatest criminals alive, defeating 17 heroes in his lifetime. In NC 1962, Audun challenged Mr. Legend to a duel. He was apprehended and arrested by police.

• Karina Lyle (カリーナ・ライル) : a superhero who went by the name of Blue Rose (ブルーローズ) where she had the power to manipulate ice. She still attended school and lived with her parents where she made use of her heroic feats to boost her career as a singer.

• Albert Maverick : an elderly male who was secretly a NEXT with the ability to manipulate a subject's memories and alter them. He was the President and CEO of Apollon Media and had a great deal of influence on Sternbild City.

• Jake Martinez (ジェイク・マルチネス) : an incredibly powerful NEXT who was originally believed to be the leader of Ouroboros. Jake was released from prison when his organization threatened the destruction of Sternbild City for his freedom.
