Naraku is a male anime and manga character who features in InuYasha.

Biography

Naraku (Japanese: 奈落, ならく, Translation: "Hell") was a powerful half-demon who once inhabited the world. Originally, he was a bandit by the name of Onigumo (鬼蜘蛛, おにぐも, "Demon Spider") who was full of deceit with a hatred of others.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Initially, he was shown to wear a white baboon cloak-like outfit that hid his face. As a shapeshifter, his true form was not known as he adopted a wide variety of disguises.

Naraku was shown as being a master manipulator where he was able to influence humans and demons alike.

He was obsessed with acquiring the Shikon no Tama jewel which he claimed was beautiful when it was tainted by malice.

Powers and abilities

Among the spells known to Naraku included:

  • Barrier (結界, けっかい, "Kekkai") :
  • Kazaana (風穴, かざあな, "Wind Hole") :

Naraku was shown to be capable of ridding himself of unnecessary parts with these developing into separate incarnations of himself. These were useful in keeping a better eye over his surrounding situation with these detachments released to carry out his bidding.
