Nemean Lion

In Greek myth, the Nemean Lion was the focus of the first labor of Heracles. Invulnerable to conventional weapons of the time, it ravaged the Nemean plain. Heracles was able to strangle it to death, and took its pelt (cut off with the Lion's own claws) as a trophy.
