Neon the Unknown (Colin Nomi)

Colin Nomi was an infamous Burnside artist who lived a very indulgent life style. As time progressed, Colin began to run out of inspiration for his art so enacted a magical ritual that would show him the source of creation itself. The ritual worked and for a split second Colin saw the World Forge, a place within the Multiverse where worlds were born. However, the sheer magnitude of what he was witnessing blinded Colin and killed all of his friends. Gifted with the Fires of Creation that allowed him to reconstruct matter, Colin set out on a journey of redemption as Neon the Unknown. In this role, he looked to balance the deaths of his followers by seeking out new unexpected allies whilst also finding redemption for himself. (The Unexpected v3 #2)
Overview
Nomi through enacting a magical ritual came to be transported to the World Forge for a brief second. The encounter led to him being empowered by the Fires of Creation that allowed the bearer to bend mortal materials to their will like an oil on a canvas. It was said that this power could only be used to create and never to destroy. They could transform anything but were unable to make something form nothing. The rite that gave him his powers cost Colin his vision but a side effect was his other senses being tuned to more planes of existence than other people. Though his other senses were enhanced, he had no mystical vision with everything appearing black to him. (The Unexpected v3 #2)
As Neon the Unknown, Colin came to operate from a building in Red Hook, Brooklyn that served as his headquarters which he called the Keep. (The Unexpected v3 #2)
