Ogdru Hem

The Ogdru Hem are a group that feature in Hellboy.

History

The Ogdru Hem

Before their banishment, the Ogdru Jahad left Sadu-Hem behind as their foothold in the mortal world and their means of return. Its fossilised body came to be placed in a temple to the Ogdru Jahad that resided in the Arctic wastes of the north. (Hellboy: Seed of Destruction v1 #3)

After World War II, Grigori Rasputin sought for a communion with his masters and received whispers that told him to travel to the Arctic. Assembling an expedition, he killed his comrades and arrived at the temple to begin his meditations. From there, he communed with the Ogdru Jahad and learnt more of them for years until he was awakened by an expedition led by Trevor Bruttenholm. Rasputin decided to use the humans to bring about his masters goals and held Sadu-Hem back from killing them. Instead, he enslaved the expedition and had them take Sadu-Hem onto a ship headed for New York whereupon the Ogdru Hem feasted on the humans. Only Bruttenholm was spared and allowed to flee so that he could send word to Hellboy who held the key to freeing the Ogdru Jahad. (Hellboy: Seed of Destruction v1 #3)
