Olivia Dunham is a female television character who features in Fringe.

Biography

Olivia Dunham was a female human born on Earth on October 12, 1979 where she was the daughter of Marilyn Dunham and an unnamed water veteran father. When she was 3 years old, her family lived in Jacksonville, Florida because her father was stationed at the local military base. At Jacksonville, she became part of a series of drug trials that previously were thought to had only been held in Ohio where schoolchildren were used as test subjects. These trials involved a drug called Cortexiphan with these being run by Walter Bishop and William Bell at a daycare centre in 1982. (Episode: Ability)

Peter and Olivia met one another as children and confided in one another. Peter convinced her to open up about the abuse she had experienced. Olivia eventually sought help from Walter but discovered she was speaking to the Walter Bishop from the other universe after she had momentarily crossed over. When Olivia finds and confides in Walter himself, he empathizes with her and threatens her stepfather Randall with a call to social services as well as the loss of financial support from the trial (Episode: Subject 13)

Dunham graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Psychology and Criminology, and served as a United States Marine Corps special investigator, prosecuting Sanford Harris, who was charged with sexually assaulting three Marine Corps Privates. Dunham was successful and Harris was jailed, though this case caused bad blood to form between FBI agent Phillip Broyles and Dunham. (Episode: Pilot)
