Opposition (Darkest of Days)

The Opposition are an organization that feature in Darkest of Days.

History

The Opposition were a faction of humans that existed in the 22nd century where in fact they were a future incarnation of Kronotek. They believed that it was not wrong to alter events in the timeline in order to prevent the emergence of terrible moments in history. Thus, their actions led to them warping parts of the timeline which brought this mysterious group into conflict with Kronotek.

They opposed the actions of Kronotek agent Alexander Morris from investigating two anomalies in the timeline namely individuals present during events that they were not supposed to be present in. These were Corporal Welsh of the Union Army in the American Civil War and the other was Russian Army Officer Petrovich in World War I at the Battle of Tannenberg. The true reason behind the Opposition's actions was to prevent the descendants of those two individuals from being born as they were responsible for a DNA sequencer built in the future. This device in turn was stolen where it was used by Middle Eastern scientists to create a virus that targeted people of European descent. The resultant weapon killed 2 billion people where eight out of every ten in North America died. However, the interference of the Opposition led to this tragedy being prevented and removed from the time stream.

Overview

The fact that members of the Opposition come from a further point in the timeline became evident in their use of force fields and futuristic weaponry. They also had access to time travel technology that allowed them to move to any point in the timeline.
