Overlanders

Overlanders was the name for the human race that lives on Mobius. All modern Overlanders have four fingers (like most intelligent beings on Mobius), but there is also a five-fingered race of Overlanders that created great technological wonders, before hiding from the world. The modern Overlanders were also very advanced, but also very powerhungry.

A war was fought between the Mobians and the Overlanders in the time of Uncle Chuck's youth- several earlier conflicts of a minor scale had occurred before that point. Most Overlanders were wiped out by the time of Sonic the Hedgehog's life, with Dr. Julian Kintobor and Snively Kintobor of the House of Ivo, and Dr. Nate Morgan being some of the few exceptions.

A group of Overlanders who fled into space- including Robotnik's brother and his family- returned to Mobius following Robotnik Mach II's re-conquest of Robotropolis. However, he allowed them to be subtly poisoned by the toxic wastes of the city, and later roboticized the lot of them (save his niece).
