Patty Spivot
The newly discovered element dyrithum possessed the density of diamond and the Central City police were interested in using it to make improved bulletproof vests. The snag was that dyrithium was a heavy element, causing a weight problem when used to make bulletproof vests, so Barry Allen and Patty Spivot were tasked with coming up with a formula for a lightweight dyrithium alloy. Patty went to work while Barry stepped out to get coffee and donuts. Dr. Alchemy used his Philosopher’s Stone to melt a hole in the police lab’s wall, knocked out Patty with ether, and stole the dyrithium. Barry was disappointed to see that Al Desmond had returned to a life of crime, and changed into Flash and confronted him, but Alchemy knocked him out with a cloud of carbon monoxide. When Flash recovered he changed back into his civilian identity to find Darryl Frye checking in on the recovering Spivot. He demanded to know where Barry had been for the past 20 minutes, and Barry said he witnessed the robbery and followed Flash, helping him recover after the carbon monoxide attack. The police arrested Al Desmond at home, but the new Dr. Alchemy, actually the 'psychic twin' of Desmond broke him out and shackled him in a cave, planning on pinning more crimes on him. Patty got a call in the lab from Rita Desmond, wife of Al Desmond. She needed to speak to Barry, telling him her husband had resumed his identity of Mr. Element in order to take down the new Dr. Alchemy for trying to frame him for his crimes. (Flash v1 #289)

- Patty Spivot was created by Cary Bates and Irv Novick where she made her first appearance in DC Special Series v1 #1 (September, 1977).
Alternate Versions
- In Five-Star Super-Hero Spectacular (1977), Barry Allen imagined a world where Patty was struck by the chemicals that the lightning struck and gave her superspeed. This saw her become a costumed hero and she took the name Ms. Flash. However, added chemicals created an unstable vibrational effect causing her to prematurely detonate bombs, turn water into toxic gas and create radiation that killed everyone in Central City. Upon witnessing this scenario, Barry pulled Spivot from the chemicals to prevent this future.

Television
- In the Flash, Patty Spivot made a recurring appearance in the second season starting in the episode "The Flash of Two Worlds" where she was portrayed by actor Shantel VanSanten. It was shown that one day her father went to the store where he was killed by the Mardon brothers leading to her desire to get revenge. She was shown as a new addition to the Central City Police Department and sought to join Detective Joe West's disbanded Metahuman Task force.
