It was shown that at some point he had trained to be a soldier and had been deployed in Iran.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In reality, he was also the criminal mastermind known as the Chess.

In public, Fleming was shown to be a jovial, philanthropic billionaire who seemed to desire a safer Palm City.

As Chess, he was shown to be a maniacal, bordering sociopathic criminal. He was a criminal mastermind, serial killer, expert hand-to-hand combatant, and skilled with firearms. Fleming's goals thus far seem to be to turn Palm City into a private police state with Ark Industries at its helm.

It was shown that at some point he had a daughter who was named Jamie Fleming. She came to be an investigative blogger who went by the name of Orwell.

Powers and abilities

Peter Fleming was shown to suffer from mental illness with Chess being merely a manifestation of multiple-personality disorder. Peter regularly sought treatment from a psychiatrist and suppresses his darker nature with varied success. Peter expresses concern for the sadism that Chess exhibited and was mindful of the potential harm he may prove to be for himself and to an extent those around him.

Fleming was shown to had been a mechanical engineer.

Publicly, he was known as a billionaire who was the Chairman and CEO of the ARK Corporation.
