The Physically Independent Neural Network (P.I.N.N.)

Mankind sought to develop strong artificial intelligences with numerous significant advancements in the field of neural engineering and the understanding of the human brain in an effort to make a thinking computer. It was expected that such a machine would aid in curing disease, end poverty and hunger along with healing the planet whilst securing a better future for humanity. A scientist that headed the P.I.N.N. Project was Dr. Will Caster who sought the development of this new computer system.

Overview

The process was intended for the creation of a strong artificial intelligence with the created brain to be self-sustaining that was capable of emotional expressivity and self-awareness. This sentient machine was said to be quickly able to overcome the limits of its biology with it over a short period of time having the analytical power greater than the collective intelligence of everyone in the history of Earth. It had state-of-the-art quantum processors giving it faster computational power than anything else in the world. Such an event was deemed as a 'Singularity' though it was also said to be a 'Transcendence' for the creation of a super-intelligence.
