Biography

Porphyrion was a member of the Titans and was long ago banished by the Gods of Olympus and their King Zeus through the use of the Cronus Stone. Buried beneath the earth in Tartarus, he and his comrade Titans remained there for untold millennia whilst they remained within their prison. However, Hera in a fit of jealousy stole the Cronus Stone and used its power to crack open the earth and free Porphyrion and his comrades. After breaking through the ground, the Titan met Hercules and told him to stand asie as his anger was not to the mortal world but to the inhabitants of Olympus. When Hercules demanded that Porphyrion swear that he would not harm the human world and though the Titan displayed anger, he smiled and immediately swore that he agreed to the demi-gods terms. Thus, after many centuries since the dawn of the Olympian Gods rule, the prophecy of the Titans emergence was fulfilled. After meeting up with his brother and sister Titans, he declared that it was the time of their rebirth as they took their revenge against Olympus. He along with his sisters Mnemosyne and Tethys along with his brother Crius thus made their way to Mount Olympus in order to claim back their father Cronus's Stone and become masters of the universe. However, Hera had approached them and used the power of the Cronus Stone to subdue Mnemosyne's wrath. She stated that the Titans would serve her and rule the universe but under her command; reluctantly meaning that the Titans did her will for the time.

The Titans then assaulted Olympis with Porphyrion leading his siblings in the assault. He battled against Zeus with the King of the gods powers being useless against the giant. He also battled Ares and suffered minor cuts to his fists in the battle. The Titan prepared to pummel his enemies with a large rock by Xena attacked and caused him to lose balance and fall off part of the mountain. Surveying her victory, she discovered that Porphyrion had survived and laughed mockingly at Xena. When he climbed back up, he encountered Hercules carrying his unconscious mother which he had attempted to rescue. Porphyrion looked at the demi-god and told him that his quarrel was with the gods and just as Hercules allowed him to depart in peace, the Titan returned the favor allowing Hercules to leave the battle. Without Hercules aid, the battle was a defeat for the gods who fled with their allies leaving the Titans in control of Olympus. After taking control of Olympus, Porphyrion and his comrades ravaged the home of the gods by destroying everything present. This displeased Hera who went away to be alone with her thoughts which angered the Titans though Porphyrion assured them that they would not serve her for much longer and planned for their eventual betrayal of the last of the gods. Whilst slumbering, the gods and their allies made a renewed offensive against the Titans to which Hera used the Cronus Stone to empower and mutate the Titans. Like his sibings, Porphyrion was transformed into a monstrous creature and attempted to take the stone but was persuaded to defend his new empire from the intruders first. But in the confusion, his brother Crius used his enhanced powers to cause a mighty wind blowing the Cronus stone from Hera's possession and into Porphyrion. Empowered further by the stone, he declared that they had become all powerful and shrunk Hera, placing her into a small castle that Zeus had made for one of his mortal lovers.

He then assembled his kin to attack the champions of the gods which included Hercules, Xena, Iolaus and Gabriella. Porphyrion attacked Hercules but the demi-god uppercutting the Titan causing him to fall and the Cronus Stone falling from his forehead. Whilst this happened, Crius was send plummeting into Tartarus after Hercules caused it to open with the Cronus Stone and Xena managed to trip the giant into the crack in the earth. Mnemsoyne and Tethys were tricked into colliding with one another by Ioalus and their opposing elemental nature weakened them to the point that they fell into Tartarus leaving their brother Porphyrion left. By the time he rose once more, he fell once more by a combined attack from Hercules and Xena but this did little to stop the Titan as everytime he fell he grew stronger due to his connections to the earth. He then commanded the roots from the ground to snare Hercules and he told the demigod that he should have quit when he was ahead. However, Gabriella who had been turned into a giant eagle attacked and snatched the Titan from the ground taking him into the air. Hercules told the Titan that he never quit and punched him and told Gabriella to drop him into the pit into Tartarus but before falling complete, he used one of his root tendrils to grab hold of one of Gabriella's talons. Before he could climb away to his freedom, Hercules snapped the root causing the Titan to fall into Tartarus. Now with all the Titans trapped, Hercules fused the Cronus Stone back together thus closing the underworld prison and trapping the Titans once more.

Overview

Personality and attributes

The Titan had a Human shape but was composed of rock and stood many times the height of a Human, dwarfing even giants. Veins of plant matter stretched through his body and when angered, they stood out further. He had two pointed years and red eyes that displayed a powerful intelligence which meant he was the leader of the Titans.

After being mutated by the Cronus's Stones power, his body was elongated, his feet merged into a single tree root, tree-like branches that appeared as horns and skeletal branch-like wings that were for show and lacked the ability to fly. He moved by using his feet roots to move about the earth and his hands were more fearsome and wicked tree branches grew from them like claws.

When taking possession of the Cronus Stone, Porphyrion placed the green stone on his forehead with his eyes turning from red to green.

Powers and abilities

As the Titan of the earth, Porphyrion came to draw his power from the ground itself. His strength was strong enough to resist thunder bolts, falls down Olympus and blows from Hercules though the latter did stun him.

Following his transformation by the Cronus Stone, he was capable of creating tendrils from his roots that stretched from his body to grab targets. Furthermore, his power over the earth allowed him to create roots from the ground which attacked his enemies.

He became almost all powerful with the power of the Cronus Stone and was capable of turning a god powerless and shrinking them to small size as well as transporting them elsewhere.
