History
The Principality of Zeon was an independent space colony nation formed in Side 3 on August 15, UC 0069. Formerly the Republic of Zeon, the Principality was led by Sovereign Degwin Sodo Zabi. In UC 0079, after the development of mobile suits by the Zeons, the One Year War broke out between the Zeons and the Earth Federation. At the end, the Zeons were defeated, their independence removed. Remaining Zeon loyalists initiated Operation Stardust in 0083 with the aid of Anavel Gato, but they were stopped thanks in part to Ensign Kou Uraki.
Overview
One of the three factions of the military was the Space Attack Force that was made up of six battle fleets which provided the bulk of the Principality's space power.
A group of ace pilots within the Principality was the Chimera Corps.
One of their biggest developments was that of Mobile Suit technology that was originally intended for colony construction that was later used for military application. Among the types of suits used by the Principality included:

Research led to the discovery and classification of Newtypes that were used for military purposes. This led to the development of the Cyber Newtype (強化人間 Kyouka Ningen?) who were artificial creations. They received various physical and mental enhancements that included organ transplants, bio-technological modifications and chemicals which increased their speed as well as radiation resistance. Extensive hypnotic conditioning where the person's memories and personalities were manipulated to make them more effective soldiers. However, a side effect of this process meant that the Cyber Newtypes were mentally unstable and some suffered from personality disorders.
