The Quantum Vortex is a powerful weapon employed by the Taelon's in Earth: Final Conflict.
History
Before the Taelons arrived on Earth, the planet was gripped in a terrible war that nearly resulted in destruction of Humanity through a Nuclear Holocaust. To prevent this, the Taelons deployed their Quantum Vortex during the SI War which resulted in the death of 100,000 people but forced the Human race to realize how close they came to destruction. When the Taelons arrived, they would hide this fact from their Human charges. ("Scorched Earth")
