Biography

Origin

Karen Lou "Kitty" Faulkner

She came to head the tour of her experiment where she showed it to Lois Lane. (Superman v2 #7)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

She joined a group of supervillains including Icicle, Multiplex and Catman as they decided to take their criminal activities outside the country. This saw them travelling to the Mathali Island in the Arabian Sea where they toppled the government and decided to take over a hotel as a place to relax. The villains were then pursued by the Special Crimes Task Force who had assistance from the Justice League to apprehend the group. During the fight, she fought Wonder Woman where she was knocked by the beach where Aquaman helped in apprehending her. Whilst in a prison vehicle, they lamented that they had no place to escape from superheroes though Rampage had heard of a place called Kahndaq where they faced the possibility of being freed by one of Multiplex's clones. (Justice League: Endless Winter v1 #1)

Overview

Personality and attributes

After an accident, she was turned into an 8-foot tall yellow-skinned that made her unlike any human. (Superman v2 #7)

Powers and abilities

She was transformed as a result of radiation exposure to her experiment. This turned her into a muscular 8-foot tall superhuman with incredible strength. The whole process of bio-energy stimulation came to be acted through her body where her cells kept storing solar radiation similar to a Kryptonian. This could cause her to grow in size and power over time where the radiation could burn those that touched her. (Superman v2 #7)

One of her creations was a bio-energy actualizer whose containment canisters could supply enough heat and light to power half a city the size of Metropolis. (Superman v2 #7)

Notes

  • Rampage was created by John Byrne where she made her first appearance in Superman v2 #7 (July, 1987).

Alternate Versions

  • In The New 52: Futures End v1 (2014), a version of Rampage appeared in the alternate possible timeline of Future's End. Set 5 years in the future, Faulkner was an employee at LexCorp's genetic research laboratory, and met Fraudulent S.T.A.R. Labs scientist Ethan Boyer in a conference in Paris. She later worked on a failed experiment that mutated her into Rampage, leaving her in a perpetual berserker state while retaining some of her intelligence. With Lex Luthor unable to cure her, she broke Boyer out of jail, hoping his knowledge on genetics could cure her. Boyer, however, furthered her berserker rage instead, using her to distract the new Superman from him. Rampage then went on a rampage for the following weeks, before facing off against Superman, who was revealed during the fight to actually be Billy Batson. Rampage then throws Batson, but is caught by Stormguard, who defeats Rampage. Stomguard then promises to her that genecists will be able to help her once she is taken into custody.

This version was a member of Gorilla Grodd's Secret Society who consciously and willingly takes part in criminal activities. Prior to and during the episode "Alive!", Lex Luthor took control of the Society, but Grodd mounted a mutiny to retake command. Rampage sided with the latter, but was frozen by Killer Frost and killed by Darkseid along with Grodd's other loyalists.
  • In Superman & Lois, a character based on Rampage Kit Faulkner appeared in the live-action television series second season where she was portrayed by actress Catherine Lough Haggquist.
