Biography
Ratatoskr
It was known that she had meddled in the affairs of Earth since prehistoric times. (Unbeatable Squirrel Girl v2 #44) Ratatoskr plagued Asgard for many centuries, and was frequently jailed for her habit of whispering chaos into the ears of others and causing them to fight. In time, after escaping imprisonment, she manipulated the Wabanaki people, who called her Meeko, and she nearly destroyed all civilization, but the Asgardians stopped her, confined her to squirrel size, and imprisoned her for eternity. (Unbeatable Squirrel Girl v1 #7) As boys, Loki and Thor would sit in the branches of Yggdrasil and listen to Ratatoskr's tales. Ratatoskr once warned Eitri the dwarf of Loki's plans for the Mjolnir mold, and the warning led to Eitri's death over time. (Thor v2 #83) Centuries ago, Loki weakened the barriers of Ratatoskr's prison in a long-term plot, eventually allowing Ratatoskr to escape. (Unbeatable Squirrel Girl v1 #8) Thor and the Warriors Three climbed Yggdrasil, where Ratatoskr offered them stories in exchange for seeds from the immortal apples of Idunn. Ratatoskr told them of the eagle and the dragon. (Thor: Blood Oath v1 #2) Thor found the corpse of Ratatoskr during the Asgardian Ragnarok. (Thor v2 #83)
Trapped in a prison cell, she remained there until the Mangog was freed and proceeded with destroying Asgardia. This allowed Ratatoskr to escape where she learnt that Malekith the Accursed had been gathering allies to wage a war against all the realms. (Unbeatable Squirrel Girl v2 #44)

- Ratatoskr was created by Michael Avon Oeming, Daniel Berman, and Andrea DiVito where she made her first appearance in Thor v2 #83 (October, 2004).
- The character was based on Ratatoskr from Norse Myth.

Video games
- In Marvel Rivals, Ratatoskr appeared in the setting of the third person hero shooter video game. During the events of the Timestream Entanglement, Doctor Doom and Dracula cast a spell that sent Ratatoskr crashing into Central Park to be captured as her horn that was carved from the life-giving wood of the World Tree itself had the power to potentially kill the vampire king permanently. Squirrel Girl took it upon herself to rescue the squirrel goddess from Dracula's clutches along with the other New York Heroes.
