History

The Red Paladins were a religious order of humans during feudal times who were devoted followers of God.

In time, they gained popular support from the people who started to resent the Fey as being responsible for problems in their lives. This became even more apparent when the lands started to suffer from a terrible drought. During this time, the Paladins conducted their inquisitions of various areas in order to root out Fey and kill them. These activities were done with wild abandon as King Uther Pendragon did not curtail the activities of the Red Paladin as he was more devoted to regaining the support of the people after the long drought.

Overview

In appearance, the Red Paladins wore distinctive red garments and clothing such as cloaks with them having a bald spot where that had the image of the cross burnt onto it. Their order consisted entirely of men and they refused any women to join their ranks.

As devoted worshippers of God, the Red Paladins had a fanatical belief in their deity and scorned the existence of magical beings. This led to them believing that magical races such as the Fey were not natural and had to be destroyed. It was this belief that led to them conducting purges of the Fey from the lands where they spared none of their kind to live.

They were beholden to follow the dictates of the Trinity Guard who directly served the Pope and thus outranked the Red Paladins.
