History
The Republic of San Magnolia (Japanese: サンマグノリア共和国, Hepburn: Sanmagunoria Kyouwakoku?) was once a monarchy ruled over the land's native people, the Alba, and a subset of Alba known as Celena were its nobility, wielding the Esper power known as the Celena Intimidation. However, over three hundred years ago, in Republic Year 1 (Stellar Year 1782), the monarchy was toppled in a democratic revolution and the Republic, the world's first modern democracy, was founded to replace it. The revolution was led by a woman who would later be called San Magnolia, whose martyrdom resulted in her becoming the namesake of the Republic. The ultimate irony of the revolution, however, was that, despite successfully transitioning to a democracy, the country did not change much as a society at all, with many of the former noble families surviving and going on to take up high-ranking positions within the new Republic.
Overview
The Republic of San Magnolia's 'five-hued' flag consisted of the country's crest imposed on five stripes, each a different color: blue, red, white, black, and yellow. Each color represents one of the Republic's main moral principles: freedom, equality, brotherhood, justice, and nobility.
A major manufacturer within the nation was Republic Military Industries.
The Republic initially prided itself on being a nation of diverse cultures opening to all races and ethnicities. As they implemented the open immigration policies, many ethnic groups settled within The Republic. These minorities would later become known as the Colorata collectively while the Republic's population remained majority Alba.
Perhaps, the most defining traits of the Republic's culture is their ideology of Alba Supremacy. The central part of the ideology is the belief which the Alba is the most superior race who stands above all other races on the continent; All things created by the Alba is inherently superior than other races' creation such as the government system, weapons, equipment etc.
The cuisine of the Republic is divided in two, the heavily artificial foods of the Eighty-Five Sectors and the assortment of free range, canned, and farmed foods of the Eighty-Sixth Sector. Due to the war, the Republic was forced to give up most of its land dedicated to producing food. Those inside the Eighty-Five live off of a diet consisting of factory-made synthetic meals, supplements, and the occasional genuine articles should they belong to the upper class. Families with spacious estates, such as Annette's, are able to grow their own produce should they desire
