Rex Salazar

Rex Salazar is a male animated character who features in Generator Rex.

Biography

Ricardo Salazar was a male human born as the second son born of Rafael Salazar and Violeta Salazar who had him when they were living in Geneva, Switzerland with him having older brother named Caesar Salazar. The young Rex's parents and older brother were all brilliant scientists who had travelled all over the world before he had been born. When he was 12 years old, Rex spent every summer in a small South American town where he played with his best friend Federico. Around this time, his parents and brother were working on the Nanite Project with Rex getting injured during an industrial accident. This led to a dispute among many scientists over the use of the nanites with his family and Gabriel Rylander deciding to inject an original batch of fully programmed nanites into Rex in order to save his life. Such a move was also done so in the hope of convincing the other scientists of the potential benefits posed by the nanites. The operation was a success with Rex being saved and gaining new abilities from the nanites. Afterwards, the Nanite Event occurred which resulted a large explosion that killed Rex's parents and dispersed the nanites around the world.

Powers and abilities

Originally, Rex Salazar had been an ordinary human until he suffered an injury in his childhood with nanites being used to save his life. This resulted in his transformation into a Exponentially Variegated Organism (EVO) when the nanites had bonded to him on a molecular level. Unlike other EVOs though, Rex actually maintained control over his nanites which provided him a range of abilities.

Through the nanites, he was able to interface with technology allowing him to communicate with and control it.

Using his nanites, Salazar was able to create a variety of machines that formed from his own body which he could use offensively, defensively, or for transportation.

Rex was able to extract active nanites of other EVOs to cure them and turn them back to normal.

• Rex Salazar was created by Man of Action Studios where he featured in Generator Rex and was voiced by actor Daryl Sabara.
• The character was inspired by that of Rex from the comic M. Rex.
