Rohan is a kingdom that features in Middle-earth.

History

Riddermark (Rohirric) was a kingdom of man that came to exist in the lands of Middle-Earth.

It was originally part of Gondor until the land gained independence from it.

Overview

It was situated in the land that was once known as Calenardhon which was located in the great vale between the Misty Mountains to the north and the White Mountains to the south.

Locations within the kingdom included:

  • Helm's Deep : situated in a fortified gorge at the White Mountains located below the Thrihyrne which became a stronghold of the Rohirrim.
  • Glittering Caves :
  • White Mountains :

The Rohirrim were famous as skilled horsemen and renowned masters of horse breeding.

The leader of the kingdom bore the title of King of Rohan.
