Biography

Satannish was a powerful male Demon who resided in Hell and ruled over his own realm. According to one account, he was actually created at the dawn of time by Dormammu who went him to infiltrate the ranks of Earth's Hell-Lords. They came to accept him as an arch-demon whilst being unaware of his true origins with Satannish secretly serving his true master. (Hellcat v1 #2)

A meeting was held by the Hell-Lords to discuss the impending invasion of Hell by Dormammu. Mephisto came to suggest that they join forces in order to repel the invader. However, Pluto and Hela decided to retreat to their respective underworlds where they would be protected by their pantheons. This left only three Hell-Lords to defend Hell against Dormammu though Daimon Helltrom would also abandon the other two. Thus, only Mephisto and Satannish stood against the hordes from the Dark Dimension as they commanded the defense of the realm. Once Mephisto's back was turned, he was struck down and wounded by Satannish who revealed his true allegiance to the Dread Dormammu who effortlessly took over Hell. (Hellcat v1 #2)
