History
The M'Kraan were an old nomadic race who around 12,000 years ago came to find a planet that contained the M'Kraan Crystal. This saw inhabit the planet and came to serve as custodians of the crystals. Thousands of years later, the Shi'ar came upon the M'Kraan and expelled them from their world and claimed the Crystal for themselves. This forced the species to flee into space where they went into hiding and took the name Scy'ar Tal (Translation: death of the Shi'ar). Afterwards, the once peaceful race turned to war and sought revenge against the Shi'ar for the massacres committed against their people. (X-Men: Emperor Vulcan v1 #5)
