The Seeds from the Garden of Eden are plants that feature in the SyFy Movie Seeds of Destruction.

History

The Seeds from the Garden of Eden was actual prehistoric seeds that were descended from the fabled paradise garden of Eden of the Biblical era. These remarkable plants grew and created a lush garden of plants during the time of Adam and Eve. Prior to them being banished from the garden, Adam was noted to had stolen some of these Seeds within an urn. This was with the intention of planting them on Earth in order to create a new garden of Eden. These were stored within a temple with the intention of eventual plantation. However, the events of the Flood came during these ancient times leading to the Seeds being lost for thousands of years. Knowledge of the Seeds were present within the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Garden of Eden became considered a fable by modern times with warnings being present within the Bible. A warning was present in the Book of Isaiah: "The Earth mourns and withers, befouled by its inhabitants. Hence a curse devours the Earth and those who are upon it." This was a message for future Human generations as Eden was unpolluted and warned that the plants would devastate the world if it was not cared for by mankind. Legend spoke that he who spoke in the Garden of Eden walked amongst them as gods.

Lost passages were discovered within them by Doctor Jeremy Frame in the 21st century that explained the existence of these miraculous plants. As a result, he gained funding with the intention of finding these Seeds for study within the 11,000 year old remains of a temple believed to be the site of the Garden of Eden. In 2008, Doctor Jeremy Frame hired both Matthew Kyle and Dr. Jocelyn Stein in order to conduct a seed excavation in Turkey. The urn containing the Seeds was located by Dr. Stein, however, Frame hid their existence and claimed nothing was present within the relic. In addition, he stated that all funding had been cut and thus their expedition came to an end. After departing, Frame and Kyle remained in contact with one another where they studied the Seeds as well as their properties. Frame decided that they could not be released in an uncontrolled environment and remained to study them in order to eventually recreate the Garden of Eden. It remained within the care of Alamut Corp Industries with the samples kept in a sealed environment. Government agents from SCOPE learnt of its existence and deemed them to be a security threat thus leading to an attempt to secure the samples.

However, in 2011, Dr. Kyle decided to sell a sample of the Seeds to outside parties in exchange for profit on the black market. During the meeting, the Seed fell into the ground and entered into the soil leading to monstrous;y huge roots and plants growing in Nevada leading to a global catastrophe. As a result, a national emergence was called and agent Jack Taylor of SCOPE was assigned to enlist the aid of Dr. Stein to handle the threat posed by the Seed. Initially, the root system was going through unpopulated regions but was heading towards Reno. An airstrike was made against the root tip of the growing plants that seemingly destroyed the organism. However, it failed and the Seed regrew itself after it burrowed deep underground that led to it growing exponentially. Some believed that the Seeds were able to restore the Earth whilst others thought that they were too dangerous to allow to exist. Dr. Frame in the mean time developed a serum intended to leave the corrupted overgrowth into stasis and take the original taproot back for study in order to determine what went wrong with the plant. Ultimately, the corrupted tap root was injected with the anti-toxin which killed it and new pure Seeds were used to restore the devastated surface of the planet.

Overview

These miracle plants had amazing properties such as being able to purify the air into pure oxygen even from simple cigarette smoke. In addition, leaves from these plants were capable of healing cuts and bleeds through simple contact and even healing life threatening bullet shots. If released into an uncontrolled environment with a polluted atmosphere, the Seeds buried into the soil immediately where their roots began to dig into the earth itself. This was capable of creating massive earthquakes along with giant roots that emerged from the soil at frighteningly fast rates and was capable of bringing wide spread catastrophe on a global scale. Massive root growths were capable of being detected that indicated the Seeds spread at a rate of 30 miles per hour that destroyed everything in its path. This root system was able to create itself on a massive scale unlike normal plants. The plant grew in the path of least resistance and was able to grow immense branches that reached towards the sky that obstructed vision which made flying with aircrafts a dangerous hazard. This was due to them being in a hyper-metabolic state that led to a rapid state of growth.

The root tip was the site where the original Seeds grew and spread their root system which was considered a potential weakspot in the organism. However, if it recovered it would regrow itself from this embryonic part and multiply. If the root system realized it was going to die, its limbs were able to create a new tap root in order to survive and repeat its spread cycle. Herbicides were considered a potential weapon against the Seeds but it was believed that the vast plants would be unable to be affected and that gallons of such substance was needed to harm it. Pure untainted Seeds were able to repel corrupted plants and protected their locations which made these areas safe havens from the rampaging plants. This was accomplished by the roots secreting an anti-toxin designed to repel invading plants. Seeds were capable of being kept in stasis in their seed state through extreme cold temperatures. A serum was able to stop the rapid metabolic rate of the plant and leaving it into stasis so long as this formula was applied to the original taproot.
