Biography
Sergei Vladimir (Japanese: セルゲイ・ウラジミール, Hepburn: Serugei Urajimīru, based on Russian Сергей Владимирович) was a former colonel of the Soviet Union military, Sergei retained that title as a nickname after being discharged by the army. Following the fall of his homeland, he approached the Umbrella Corporation and quickly became one of the company's top executives. He became personally acquainted with Umbrella founder Ozwell E. Spencer, who began to rely on Sergei as a loyal and effective enforcer. Sergei subsequently formed and led Umbrella's militia, the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service, as well as Umbrella's internal espionage organization, Monitor. Agents that answered directly to Sergei include the likes of Nicholai Ginovaef. As one of the rare individuals whose genetic makeup is capable of producing a Tyrant, Sergei became the genetic model for the majority of Umbrella's Tyrant program, beyond the T-001 and T-002 projects initiated by the team led by Albert Wesker and William Birkin. To further produce more Tyrants Sergei allowed Umbrella to make 10 clones of himself. Sergei also ordered the re-engineering of two T-103 Tyrants in order to produce his personal bodyguards, known as "Ivan".
On Spencer's orders Sergei was personally involved in the events surrounding the outbreak in Raccoon City. At the Arklay Training Facility, Sergei dispatched one of his "Ivan" Tyrants to kill Albert Wesker for failing to save the facility from James Marcus' attack. At the Spencer Mansion he was tasked with recovering the Talos prototype, which eventually became one of Umbrella's most impressive bio-organic weapons. When Raccoon City itself was overrun, Sergei recovered the Red Queen data core from Umbrella's laboratory, allowing the company to recover from the loss of their Raccoon installations. After Umbrella was forced to go underground, Sergei was put in charge of Umbrella's new base of operations in the Caucasus region of southern Russia. In 2003, this stronghold came under attack by troops led by Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. Despite unleashing the most powerful bio-organic weapons that Umbrella had to offer, including Talos, Sergei was unable to repel the assault. He ultimately met his end at the hands of Albert Wesker, who had also infiltrated the facility.

In appearance, Sergei Vladimir was a human male of Caucasian descent who stood at an imposing height of approximately seven feet, possessing a massive, muscular frame that commanded immediate authority. He was an elderly man with weathered, stern facial features, characterized by a distinctive scar that ran vertically across his blind right eye. His hair was a stark, military-style buzz cut in a shade of silver-white, which matched his thick eyebrows and a neatly groomed, albeit short, beard and mustache. Regarding his attire, he was almost exclusively seen wearing a heavy, olive-drab Soviet-style military greatcoat that draped over his broad shoulders like a cape, often left unbuttoned to reveal a formal dark olive tunic underneath. This uniform was adorned with various gold medals and high-ranking Soviet insignias, signifying his past as a Colonel. He completed his ensemble with dark trousers tucked into polished, knee-high black combat boots and frequently wore black tactical gloves, maintaining a rigid, disciplined posture that reflected his career as a career soldier and high-level operative.
Sergei Vladimir was defined by an unwavering, fanatical loyalty to the Umbrella Corporation, viewing the organization not merely as an employer but as the architect of a new world order. He operated with the cold, calculated discipline of a career Soviet soldier, subordinating his own humanity to the cold logic of the company’s survival and the success of its biological research. This devotion manifested as a ruthless pragmatism; he was entirely willing to sacrifice his own subordinates or orchestrate mass-scale tragedies if it ensured the preservation of Umbrella’s assets or secrets. Unlike other high-ranking officials who sought personal power or wealth, Sergei’s motivations were rooted in a twisted sense of duty and a profound reverence for Ozwell E. Spencer, whom he served with the religious fervor of a disciple. His personality was marked by a stoic, humorless demeanor, as he looked down upon those he deemed "weak" or "unworthy" of the evolutionary future Umbrella promised. Even in the face of the company’s inevitable collapse, his resolve never wavered, leading him to guard its legacy with a lethal, obsessive tenacity until his final moments.
