Biography

Origin

Sersi was a female member of the race of Eternals of the planet Earth. (Eternals v1 #3)

She was a child during the era of ancient Babylon where she accompanied Utnapishtim. During this time, Gilgamesh the champion-king of Eruk was seeking the plant of immortality as part of his quest. In that time, he was assisted by a strange-garbed man with a shield who unknown to Sersi was actually from the future and a comrade named Captain America. (Captain America Annual v1 #11)

Long ago, she was at her villa on one of the ancient Greece islands which was visited by a sailor and his ravenous crew. (Eternals v1 #4)

Avenger

As Sylvia Sersi, she hosted a party with She-Hulk, the Wasp and Starfox in attendance. During this time, Domo attempted to contact her remotely through a mirror demanding her return to Olympia. However, she refused to attend the meeting of the final decision and instead wanted to remain with her party. This saw the event being interrupted by the arrival of the Delphan Brothers who had received orders to forcibly bring Sersi back to Olympia. She came to fight them with the aid of the Avengers but the band of Eternals successfully captured her where they escaped on their ship. The three Avengers pursued them onto the vessel which then made the jump to Olympia leading to all of them being captured as a result. (Avengers v1 #246)

Eternal

She answered the gathering of Eternals at Olympia to discuss their role in the affairs of the world. This saw her travelling to observe the actions of the Red Hulk. However, the gamma-empowered being could tell that Sersi was not human causing her to send out a telepathic call of distress that resulted in Ikaris arriving at the scene. He battled the Red Hulk but their battle threatened to ignite the nearby volcano with Ikaris ending the fight to stop it from exploding. He and Sersi then teleported away as they decided to take the lessons learnt from this encounter to the other Eternals. (Hulk v2 #49)

Sersi later travelled to Olympia in the wake of the mysterious murder of Zuras following the resurrection of the collective Eternal race by the Machine. Upon arriving, she found a wounded Ikaris who had returned following a battle with the Mad Titan Thanos who had also bee resurrected. In addition, they learnt that the Machine's resurrection functions were inactive which meant that any death was permanent until the system was repaired. The Eternals then decided to work together to find the murderer of Zuras with Sersi deciding to keep the recently returned Sprite by her side in case she was the killer. She also used her abilities to repair the damage done to Ikaris following his confrontation with Thanos at the city of Titanos. (Eternals v5 #2)
