History
The Shadow Angels (Japanese: 堕天翅族 Datenshi-zoku, lit. "degenerate heaven wing clan") were an ancient race of humanoid beings that inhabited the planet Earth. Over 12,000 years ago, Humanity and the Tribe of the Shadow Angels waged a great war as the Shadow Angels attempted to harness the life energy of Humans; known as Purana. Despite the odds, Human beings won the conflict due a defecting Shadow Angel known as Apollonius who used the mecha Aquarion along with the warrior Celiane and the Human queen Scorpius were they able to defeat the Atlantian Shadow Angels. However, Scorpius betrayed Apollonius and assassinated him at the end.
The Shadow Angels, however, were not destroyed but entered into a deep slumber. In that time, DEAVA was formed with the intent of fighting the Shadow Angels through the use of the Vector Machine. After awakening, the Shadow Angels attempt to continue their acts against Humanity and attempt to dominate them after the Great Catastrophe.
Overview
In appearance, the Shadow Angels appear to be a Human looking race with several angelic qualities to their appearance.
During their attacks on the Human populations, the Shadow Angels play their Hypnotic Song which puts normal Humans into a trance like state where they walk into solid objects where they de-materialize into the surface and taken by the Shadow Angels. Once there, numerous wires connect into the body making it completely under the control of the shadowy race.
The Shadow Angels possess a great level of technology allowing them to create portals through reality through which they can deploy their soldiers as well as warriors.
The Shadow Angels made use of numerous servants during their assaults. The most common type were vehicle sized craft which possess the rough characteristics of a Human body minus the limbs. These units are capable of firing energy beams capable of easily destroying enemy craft. They are capable of defying gravity allowing them to fly across their environment. When finding Humans to capture, these units are able to shoot out numerous mechanical tentacles to capture their prey. One of the largest creations that the Shadow Angels make use of are Cherufim class soldiers which are gigantic Human shaped mecha.
Another dreaded servant of the Shadow Angels is the Harvest Beast which are mecha sized machines that possess numerous tentacles and are capable of disguising themselves within buildings. These servants are tasked with capturing the purana of Humans and absorbing them within its body. It is capable of using the energy obtained from these souls and firing them at its enemies.
When destroyed, the machine servants turns into a greenish liquid.
