Shadowspire is an organization that features in DC Comics.

History

Shadowspire was a criminal organization that operated in the world by the modern age on Earth.

It was said to had arisen from the drug trade but was not part of it. (Deathstroke v1 #53)

Overview

Such was their reputation that their name was mentioned in terrified whispers around the world. Their symbol was a stark diamond-shape enclosing a black and forbidding tower. Shadowspires activities included weapons, transport, high-technology, drugs and reliable intelligence. These it supplied to the cartels and other crime groups where it bolstered their poisonous trade. It also dealt with rebel insurgencies throughout the continent and the government forces that opposed them. (Deathstroke v1 #53)

Leadership of the organization was headed by a figure who went by the title of the Chief of Shadows. (Deathstroke v1 #53)

  • Shadowspire was created by Tom Joyner PhD and Mike Collins where they made their first appearance in Deathstroke v1 #53 (June, 1995).

In other media

Television

  • In Arrow, Shadowspire made an appearance in the setting of the live-action television series set in the Arrowverse during its the fourth season episode "A.W.O.L.". They were a criminal organization that operated as a military unit and had formerly been a black ops group attached to the United States Army. Five years ago, they were involved in black market deals at Afghanistan where John Diggle's brother Andy Diggle had dealings with them. Years later, they began operating at Starling City and were involved in operations against A.R.G.U.S. They later assaulted A.R.G.U.S. Headquarters in an effort to capture the classified project named Rubicon.
