Sharg (Mech Cadet Yu)

The Sharg are a giant species that feature in Mech Cadet Yu.

History

The Sharg were a monstrous race of giant insectoids that plagued worlds around the galaxy.

On Earth, a training exercise was conducted by newly assigned Robo pilots. It was in this time that the Sharg emerged on the planet and began attacking the populace. The cadets fought against the monsters and were nearly overwhelmed until reinforcements came from experienced veteran Captain Tanaka who helped destroy the Sharg. Despite this, the cadets were hailed as heroes for fighting the alien threat. (Mech Cadet Yu v1 #4) However, the Sharg had done a great deal of damage to the global defense ring. A search was conducted after it was discovered that the Shargs had eggs in them that could have been laid elsewhere on the planet. (Mech Cadet Yu v1 #5) Despite this, several of the eggs that were being stored for study came to hatch and overwhelmed the Robo base. (Mech Cadet Yu v1 #6)

Overview

In appearance, the Sharg were kaiju sized crab-like monsters capable of devastating worlds. Fully grown Sharg were shown to be much larger than a Robo. Sharg were shown to come in a variety of colour tones. (Mech Cadet Yu v1 #4)

They were able to unfurl wings from their carapace that gave them the ability to fly. (Mech Cadet Yu v1 #4)

Offensively, they were shown to be able to spit out trails of green acid able to burn through most objects. (Mech Cadet Yu v1 #4)

Sharg were capable of being pregnant and carrying eggs within their exo-skeleton. This meant that they could lay them allowing more of their kind to be born on worlds they intend to ravage. This was why it was essential to locate any eggs to prevent further Sharg from manifesting on a world they had visited. (Mech Cadet Yu v1 #5) Newborn Sharg resembled smaller versions of the adult specimens where they were smaller than an adult human. Despite that, they were voracious creatures that killed any organism around them. (Mech Cadet Yu v1 #6)

As a species, the Sharg were considered too dangerous. (Mech Cadet Yu v1 #6)
