Biography
Origin
Gaveedra-Seven was the biological son of former X-Men Longshot and Dazzler; however, due to a temporal paradox, he was also responsible for the creation of Longshot. It was revealed that because of Mephisto's manipulation of Shatterstar by sending him back in time to the Mojoverse along with Rictor, Shatterstar was discovered and experimented on by Arize who created Longshot from his DNA. As Longshot was genetically extrapolated from Shatterstar's genes, Shatterstar was essentially Longshot's father. This created a paradox when Longshot years later impregnated Dazzler who then gave birth to Shatterstar. Longshot and Dazzler were mindwiped to forget the pregnancy and the Shatterstar infant was sent 100 years into the future by his own adult self in order to maintain the consistency of the time line. (X-Factor v1 #259)
During this time, he came to continue his fights in the arena where he developed a relationship with Gringrave who was a popular female gladiator who came to be known as the Smiling Executioner. However, she came to manipulate to further her own ends where she taught him to not love or get attached to others with her fixating on the thrill of the kill. (Shatterstar v1 #4)
Young Shatterstar was next seen as an adult, 100 years in the future, rebelling against the rule of the tyrannical Mojo V. At this point in his life, Shatterstar apparently believed himself to be one of the artificially engineered bipeds of the Wildways, the slave race of Longshot who turned against Mojo and the Spineless Ones. Shatterstar lived on the run in the shadows for two years before joining the Cadre Alliance. The Alliance's efforts in Shatterstar's time were no more effective than those of Longshot a century prior against the original Mojo. Desperate for aid, Alliance scientists and mystics constructed an elsewhen transporter to send a representative through time and space in order to recruit the legendary X-Men from Earth, to join them in their fight. Shatterstar volunteered to be the representative and crash-materialized 100 years in the past in the X-Mansion's underground Danger Room. (New Mutants v1 #99)
The X-Men were off-world at the time, but Cable and his band of New Mutants were in residence to greet Shatterstar. Suddenly thrust into battle with the Danger Room's attack drones, Shatterstar was in no mood to quietly explain his position to the New Mutants when they entered and had to be beaten unconscious by Cable in order to calm him down. While he was recovering, however, dog-soldiers from Mojo's Imperial Protectorate locked onto Shatterstar's transport signal and followed him to the present time and local space. Shortly after Shatterstar revived and related his story to Cable's team, they were attacked by the legion of dog-soldiers. During the battle, Shatterstar demonstrated his commitment to winning at all costs when a dog-soldier grabbed him from behind and Shatterstar stabbed himself through his own abdomen in order to penetrate the construct warrior behind him. The Protectorate soldiers were defeated, but Shatterstar's elsewhen technology was damaged in the mêlée, leaving him trapped as an exile on Earth. The Cadre Alliance came to dispatch him with the mission of seeking out the heroes of legend that were the band of freedom fighters known as the X-Men. He and Cable reached an agreement: Shatterstar would join the newly-minted X-Force strike team for the present, lending his swords and skill to the fight for Xavier's dream, in exchange for Cable's promise to one day return with him to Mojoworld and overthrow the reign of Mojo V. (New Mutants v1 #100)
X-Force
Since the dog-soldiers were merely one of several enemies who knew the X-Mansion's location, X-Force relocated to an abandoned Sentinel base in the Adirondack Mountains. In his first battle with the Mutant Liberation Front, Shatterstar demonstrated his capacity for violence by severing the hand of his opponent, Reaper. He made a point of telling the dismembered mutant that he would have killed him at any other time, but was willing to temper his instincts for the sake of Cable's sensibilities: kill in self-defense, never in cold blood. (X-Force v1 #1) Since the dog-soldiers were merely one of several enemies who knew the X-Mansion's location, X-Force relocated to an abandoned Sentinel base in the Adirondack Mountains. (X-Force v1 #1) Shatterstar's approach to killing was quite different from one of his new comrades, Feral — she could not temper her murderous instincts as he could, and would even lash out violently at her own teammates when provoked. This led to an odd dichotomy between the two comrades, a love/hate relationship as 'Star respected Feral's skill and ferocity in combat, yet condemned her for her lack of self-control. Feral seemed to be attracted to Shatterstar and openly flirted with him. Shatterstar seemed to be oblivious to her overt flirtation and seemed annoyed by her comments. It was not clear whether Feral was seriously interested in him or merely toying with him. (X-Force v1 #5)
During X-Force's fight with Black Tom and the Juggernaut in Manhattan, Shatterstar proved to be surprisingly effective against his unstoppable opponent. 'Star's mystically-forged blades were capable of penetrating Juggernaut's magical force field and defenses, breaking the magical bonding that held Marko's helmet to his armor and even harming Juggernaut physically by stabbing out his eyes. Juggernaut quickly regenerated, but Shatterstar proved himself to be a formidable foe. (Spider-Man v1 #16)
As he tried to acclimate himself to Earth culture, Shatterstar initially had difficulty reconciling the role of television in this new world as opposed to his old one. Whereas television was literally life-or-death on Mojoworld, things were quite different on Earth. His studies brought to his attention the activities of the 'Vidkids', a street gang who murdered street-dwelling mutants on camera, then sent the videotapes to the news channels. Intrigued by these children and how their antics mirrored his homeworld, Shatterstar traveled to New York to stalk the murderers. On their trail, he encountered Wolverine of the X-Men, who had also taken an interest in the killings. Wolverine had apparently achieved legendary status for his deeds opposing Mojo by Shatterstar's time and 'Star actually bowed to Logan, calling him Lord Wolverine. The two joined forces in hunting down the Vidkids, and caught them in the process of making their next "picture" with another innocent victim. In fighting the gang, Shatterstar realized they were in fact nothing like his people back home. The Vidkids did not fight for their own freedom or for some greater cause like the arena warriors back on Mojoworld, but merely out of some twisted sense of fun. Enraged at what he saw as a mockery of his people and their fight, Shatterstar was ready to kill the Vidkids, but Wolverine convinced him to refrain from it. Instead, they merely destroyed the gang's tapes and footage, leaving them for the police. (Wolverine v2 #54)
While the rest of X-Force went off to deliver a warning to the Morlock population not to follow up on their leader’s actions, Shatterstar remained behind to continue his training and ended up dealing with an unwelcome burglar named Deadpool. Their fight was fierce but brief, with the more seasoned Deadpool emerging as the clear winner. (X-Force v1 #11)
X-Factor
Shatterstar
From his profits as a bounty hunter and detective, he opened Manor Crossing in Queens that was to serve as a hostel for other people from alternate dimensions and parallel worlds with himself as landlord. One day, whilst out, the manor was attacked by the Death Sponsors who were mercenaries from the Mojoverse that had abducted the tenants and taken them back to their home dimension. This led to Ben Gaveedra abandoning his civilian life as he became determined to recover his tenants and kill the people that abducted them. (Shatterstar v1 #1) He sought out Rictor to help locate a site that the Death Sponsors were planning to transport his tenants where they battled the Dockmaster and his Longshoremen. Despite their attempt, they were unable to stop the captives from being sent through and Shatterstar went through the doorway after giving Rictor a kiss. This saw Shatterstar get transported to Horus IV where the Grandmaster was shown to be responsible for the capture of his tenants to draw Ben out to fight in a gladiatorial arena for entertainment. (Shatterstar v1 #2)
Upon arriving at the arena, he was cheered by the spectators who wanted to see a fight but Shatterstar stated that he had only come to avenge the death of his friends. He defeated the Death Sponsors before confronting Gringrave herself who revealed that everything had been part of her schemes. She managed to outmanoeuvre Shatterstar where she confessed that she did not embark on this scheme for ratings but that she had actually fallen in love with him and wanted him to return to her. Whilst embracing him, he forced the pair of them to fall on his blade thus seemingly killing her but leaving him alive as the sword had missed his vital organs. It was then that the orchestrator of the contest emerged as the Grandmaster seemingly disintegrated Shatterstar as a showcase of his great cosmic power. (Shatterstar v1 #4) He was then shown what his life would have been like had he remained with Mojo with it being shown that he would have been the basis of an army that would have conquered other dimensions. The Grandmaster then restored him back to life with Gaveedra attempting to slay his opponent by cutting off his head but learnt that the villain was immortal who wielded the Power Primordial making him a powerful cosmic being. The Elder then killed Shatterstar's tenants when they arrived in the arena to save him with Gaveedra begging the Grandmaster to restore them to life and in exchange he would serve him. This delighted the Grandmaster who returned the tenants back to Earth whilst he plotted his second season of entertainment. Whilst distracted, Shatterstar used his swords to form a portal sending the two of them to Earth-1218 whose strict universal rules meant that the Elder could not utilise his cosmic powers. Gaveedra then stabbed him in the abdomen and threw him off a bridge seemingly killing the Grandmaster with the exhausted Shatterstar opening a portal back to Earth. He was pulled through by Richtor and his tenants who helped him heal whereupon they paid respects to the recently slain whilst preparing for further interdimensional arrivals to the hostel. (Shatterstar v1 #5)
House of X
After the establishing of Krakoa, Shatterstar came to be one of many Mutants that resided on the living island that was a nation to be a home for their kind. He was present as one of the many that gather to grieve the assassination of Professor X. (X-Force v6 #2)

Powers and abilities
Shatterstar had been bio-engineered to be the ultimate fighting machine. (New Mutants v1 #100) It was said that he had hollow bones and no white corpuscles with the closest reference to him being Longshot. (X-Force v1 #45)
A Mutant ability he rarely displayed was the power to resonate a vibratory shockwave through the metallurgic properties of his blade even if he was not holding it. Typically, he did not use this power as he preferred to rely on his own fighting skill and also cause using this ability left him in an exhausted state. However, he was known to indulge in the use of this power if the situation required it. (X-Force v1 #28)
Though a useful ability, this power was exhausting to use and it only allowed travel through space but not through time. He could only open these portals to places he had already been to unless he had an anchor to guide him. (Shatterstar v1 #2)
He was later given the Five Fingers of Annihilation that was a golden blade he could use in battle. (X-Force: Shatterstar v1 #1) It was built from Celestial technology and crafted by the ancients where it was imbued with the life force of many Mutants including Saul and Apocalypse. (X-Force v2 #6)
Within his home dimension, he had been a blood-warrior of the Cadre Alliance. (New Mutants v1 #100)
