Under the long-standing leadership of the 128th sovereign ruler, Emperor Strada, the civilization established its permanent imperial headquarters within the heavily fortified, floating capital city of Shinto. To protect their territories from continuous outbreaks of impure planetary monsters known as the Gohma, the administration financed a powerful elite military vanguard called the Eight Guardian Generals. The empire's traditional defensive trajectory shifted drastically into a tyrannical offensive campaign following a violent coup d'état orchestrated by the supreme military commander Deus.
