Biography
Origin
Hila was a female inhabitant of Dimension Aqua who was the identical twin sister of Mera. Her sister Mera had promised their father to never abandon Hila and to be there for her. It was said that Hila was the black sheep of the family who had always been trouble and had been an unruly royal troublemaker noted for possessing a deeply selfish and irresponsible streak. At some point, she got involved with Kandor where she was in love with him and followed him in his schemes. She was sentenced to exile from her home dimension alongside her lover, Kandor, after being convicted of a serious, unnamed crime. This eventually got her exiled by Professor Kreon with her being forced to leave her peoples dimensional water world alongside Kandor. Despite Mera's pleas, Kreon refused to change his decision with Hila accompanying him as they left their home. Escaping her punishment, she fled across reality and materialised in Earth's oceans to execute a deceptive trap. Capitalising on her striking physical resemblance to her twin sister, she completely fooled Aqualad and ambushed Aquaman, taking advantage of the sea hero's trust to lure him into a vulnerable position. Her criminal activities were ultimately halted when her accomplice, Kandor, faced an uprising from his own army of mutated Armadillo Men, forcing a temporary alliance that concluded with her being cleared of her original charges and permitted to return home. (Aquaman v1 #22)

Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Hila was a young human-looking female of Atlantean biology who possessed a flawless, slender physique and a striking elegance that perfectly mirrored the royal posture of her twin sister, Mera. She had long, vibrant red hair that flowed freely underwater, fair skin, and distinct aquamarine eyes that radiated a mischievous, calculating expression. Her outfit was explicitly designed to mimic the aquatic aesthetic of Dimension Aqua's ruling elite. She wore a form-fitting, scale-textured dark blue swimsuit that contrasted with Mera's traditional green attire, completely leaving her arms and legs exposed to allow for maximum flexibility while swimming through ocean currents. Her appearance was completely un-enhanced by advanced robotics, instead projecting the pure silhouette of a beautiful, dangerous sea-dwelling aristocrat. (Aquaman v1 #22) She was known to had gone by the name of Siren. (Brightest Day v1 #5)
It was noted that she was the younger sister of Mera. (Brightest Day v1 #6)
Powers and abilities
Hila possessed the standard physiological adaptations common to the royal inhabitants of Dimension Aqua, enabling her to comfortably survive the extreme pressures and freezing temperatures of the ocean deep. She exhibited enhanced physical strength, rapid underwater swimming speeds, and highly acute senses calibrated for zero-visibility ocean environments. Unlike her sister Mera, who possessed natural hydrokinetic control over water, Hila lacked native hard-water manipulation abilities during her initial appearance and relied heavily on external aid and technological mastery. Her most formidable asset was her master-level talent for deception and psychological manipulation, which allowed her to seamlessly impersonate her twin sister and completely manipulate the sensory tracking of the Atlantean royal family to stage a flawless underwater ambush. (Aquaman v1 #22)
She made use of weapons that were made of hard water with these capable of manifesting as blades. (Brightest Day v1 #5)
Siren came to replace her sister as leader of a death squad from Xebel who were sent on missions to assassinate key targets. (Brightest Day v1 #6)
