Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
Melmoth following his resurrection sought to save the Multiverse from the cosmic being Perpetua and intended to conduct a magical ritual at Slaughter Swamp that involved the sacrifice of two human beings. (Gotham City Monsters v1 #5)
