History

The Soul Reaver

Vorador forged the physical blade out of a unique, unidentifiable ore, while the ancient vampire Janos Audron imbued the metal with powerful blood-siphoning sorceries, intending for the weapon to be wielded by the prophesied Vampire Champion. The finished weapon asset possessed a hardcoded mystical matrix that allowed it to cleanly slice through any physical defense and instantly drain the vital blood force of its victims to nourish its wielder, establishing it as the premier execution tool across the land of Nosgoth long before it fell into the hands of the vampire king Kain.

Kain wielded the blade to strike down his resurrected, wraith-born lieutenant Raziel, but upon making high-impact physical contact with Raziel's paradox-immune form, the immutable metal blade violently shattered into inert shards. The sudden destruction of the physical vessel unleashed the ravenous, symbiotic spirit that had been trapped inside the steel for centuries. The liberated entity immediately bound itself to Raziel’s right forearm as a weightless, luminescent wraith-blade, permanently re-classifying the asset as the Soul Reaver, a parasitic energy weapon hardcoded to devour the literal souls of its victims rather than their physical blood.

As Raziel navigated the ruined timelines of Nosgoth, he exposed the wraith-blade directly to ancient elemental focal points, systematically imbuing the weapon's energy matrix with distinct paracausal properties. The asset successfully integrated specialized software-style updates, allowing the blade to shift its elemental alignment on command into Fire, Air, Water, and Earth configurations. These elemental attunements converted the projectile weapon into a versatile utility tool, enabling it to project localized elemental blasts to shatter mystical barriers, freeze water currents, and open sealed heavy stone gates that were otherwise impervious to standard telekinetic manipulation.
