Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. Star City
News came to emerge that Mayor Queen had been secretly funding the Outsiders who were a team of bounty hunters at this point with this resulting in a scandal. This combined with marginal popularity with the voting public prompted Queen to resign from his position. His resignation carried the stipulation that his successor maintains the various social aid organizations and resources Queen had established. Ollie was able to beat his opponent by resigning prior to the election and putting someone he trusted in charge of the city. (Green Arrow v3 #75)
Though the plan failed, Star City's outskirts were left mostly intact but there was a vast, star-shaped ruin in the center of the city, and a death toll of ninety-thousand people and rising. (Justice League: Cry for Justice v1 #7)
Green Arrow later discovered that the forest was not what appeared to be and that the heart of the forest was evil. (Green Arrow v4 #10) This evil eventually became the 'Dark Avatar' which the Entity mentioned would come to destroy the forest. This Dark Avatar is actually the original Swamp Thing resurrected as a Black Lantern. Also as the entire Earth falls victim to its poisoning and corruption it is revealed that the only place that is not yet touched is the forest where the sky is still blue, however as the population began to take shelter they are stopped by a white barrier. To defend the forest from the Dark Avatar, the Entity summoned the Elementals, which are revealed to be the heroes whose life force had been collected by the Entity and which reflect the simplest essential parts and principles of nature, each one representing one of the four elements, the Entity also reveals that the central tree in the Star City forest is the foundation for the Parliament of Trees. Post-Flashpoint
Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
Queen Industries was involved in a massive urban redevelopment initiative alongside Mayor Domini in the creation of Star City. (Green Arrow v6 #25)

- Hector Vance : a dark haired male who was originally a kingpin racketeer named Herb Vraney until the Green Arrow dismantled his gang in Glenville. Afterwards, Vance was sent to prison where he was ruined but after his release he used plastic surgery to change his appearance and dug up the stolen fortune he had hidden at various caches. He then fashioned a new identity as a Star City millionaire named Hector Vance who offered money to the Green Arrow to train him in archery. 'Vance' then became the masked criminal known as the Crimson Archer where he sought revenge against the Green Arrow. (Adventure Comics v1 #259)

- Star City was created by Robert Bernstein and Lee Elias where it made its first appearance in Adventure Comics v1 #266 (November, 1959).

Television
- In Smallville, Star City was referenced in the setting of the live-action television series.
- In The Batman, Star City was briefly mentioned in the animated series in the episode "Vertigo" where it was home to Oliver Queen and the Green Arrow.
- In the Arrowverse, Star City made a number of appearances in the shared continuity setting.
- In Arrow, the city made an appearance as the primary setting of the live-action television series though was renamed as Starling City. One run down area that suffered from crime was known as the Glades. In the episode "Green Arrow", it was shown to be renamed Star City both in honour of the seemingly dead Dr. Raymond Palmer and to promote the city's image.
Films
- In Batman: Year One, Star City was referenced in the animated film with it being one of the connecting flight locations to Gotham City.
Videogames
- In Injustice: Gods Among Us, Green Arrow's ending showed him visiting his counterpart in the parallel Earth who was among the first killed by High Councilor Superman. Oliver helped in the creation of a monument to his counterpart in Orchid Bay as he trained his successor Red Arrow.
