Biography
Pre-Crisis
Steve Trevor
In 1947, Steve was shot and killed by Slick Skeener, the leader of the Sly Fox Mob. Di swiftly brought her lover to their reformed ally Paula von Gunter who was able to revive him using her modifications to the Purple Healing Ray due to the speed with which he was brought to her laboratory. (Sensation Comics v1 #66)
Post-Crisis
Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
It was noted that he had been born a week after the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941. (Wonder Woman v2 #12)
Eventually, an argument with his superior made Trevor decide to retire. He set up a private aviation firm, and eventually married Etta Candy, his former aide. They lived near Hanscom Air Force Base, though Steve had expressed the desire to return to Enid, Oklahoma. (Wonder Woman v2 #170) Trevor later went into politics, and served as Deputy Secretary of Defense during the Horne administration. (Wonder Woman v2 #208)
Post-Flashpoint
Following the Flashpoint, a new version of history was created with a different series of events. Steven Howard Trevor
He was on a mission with the U.S. Navy when his plane crash-landed on the island of Themyscira where he was the only survivor with the wounded Trevor being discovered by Diana. (Wonder Woman v5 #2) The Amazons nursed Steve back to health, while Diana in particular took a special interest in him. The Amazons held a contest to determine which among them would escort Steve back to Man's World and champion the Amazons' message of peace, and Diana eagerly won, despite being told that she could never return to the island after she left. (Wonder Woman v5 #4)
Steve and Diana arrived on U.S. soil and Diana was quickly arrested, despite Steve's best efforts to defend her from his fellow government agents. Diana was bestowed with incredible gifts by her patron Gods of Olympus shortly thereafter, and Steve helped Diana get used to the ways of Man's World, alongside Etta Candy and Barbara Minerva. (Wonder Woman v5 #8)
Sergeant Trevor was briefly recruited into the counter-metahuman task force called Team 7 as his experience with Diana gave invaluable experience to the team. His first and last mission as part of the team was the infiltration and sabotage of the rogue nation dictator, Kaizen Gamorra. Steve served as the team's pilot. (Team 7 v2 #7) During this mission, Majestic created a tidal wave that swept away all of Gamorra Island. (Team 7 v2 #8)
With Darkseid's invasion thwarted, Steve Trevor came to be present as the superheroes formed the Justice League where he was assigned as the liaison to the team. (Justice League v2 #7)
He was replaced as liaison by Amanda Waller who wanted a superhero team that was directly under the oversight of the U.S. government. Steve was chosen to join the team as a field agent and a handler with the Justice League of America consisting of Hawkman, Katana, Vibe, Stargirl, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern Simon Baz and the Green Arrow. Trevor was also sent to recruit its final member who was not officially on the team with this being Catwoman. (Justice League of America v3 #1)
Afterwards, he was among of spymasters and other investigators that worked together to dismantle the threat posed by Mark Shaw's Leviathan organization. (Checkmate v3 #1) He was also assigned by the U.S. military to deal with a growing development involving Warworld technology that had crashed on Earth and been claimed by Atlantis. Their study of it resulted in giant monsters emerging from the ocean that attacked the U.S. mainland. These were only stopped by the intervention of Superman whereupon Trevor arrived at the scene to take custody of the Warworld device that caused the incident. However, Aquaman and Murk refused to comply as they lay claim to the artifact leading to growing tensions between to the two sides. (Action Comics v1 #1032)

Personality and attributes
At one point, Trevor gained superpowers where he decided to operate as a superhero and took the name Patriot. (Wonder Woman v1 #174)
It was said that he often got close to the people that he worked with. (Justice League of America v3 #1)
He was shown to have had a younger sister named Tracy Trevor. (Justice League v2 #9) It was shown that by adulthood that she had two children and was a single mother. (Justice League v2 #11)
Powers and abilities
One version of him came to be be imparted by superpowers as part of a scheme of Angle Man. The villain came to steal the super powers of Wonder Woman that were distilled in the form of pills. Steve was led to take them gifting him superhuman abilities under the belief that this would lead to Diana marrying him. The pills were responsible for giving Trevor super-strength, super-swiftness, and resistance to damage which he used in his time as the Patriot. (Wonder Woman v1 #174)

- Steve Trevor was created by William Moulton Marston and H.G. Peter where his first historical appearance was in All Star Comics v1 #8 (December 1941) with his modern appearance being Wonder Woman v2 #2 (March 1987).

- In Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor appeared in the 2017 live-action film where he was portrayed by actor Chris Pine. He was shown to had been alive in the early 20th century where he was an American soldier who joined the Allied forces during World War I. By 1918, he was a captain in the United States Army Air Service 94th Aero Squadron as a pilot with the American Expeditionary Forces where he was deployed as a spy to help the British in World War I. He was sent to masquerade as a pilot for German general Erich Ludendorff who had journeyed to an Ottoman Empire facility that was creating a deadly new form of mustard gas with this being the creation of scientist Doctor Maru. After seeing the effects of the gas, Trevor stole Maru's notes and attempted to escape but was pursued where his plane ended up crashing past the mystical barrier shielding Themsycira. He landed in the waters around the island where he was nearly killed but he was saved by the Amazon Diana just as the German forces had arrived to kill them.
- In Justice League, Steve Trevor was referenced by name in the 2017 live-action film. Diana noted that she still felt his death despite the years and it was that reason she never led people into battle as when they died she always saw the face of her love Steve Trevor.
- In Wonder Woman 1984, Steve Trevor appeared in the setting of the live-action film sequel where he was portrayed again by actor Chris Pine.
- In Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, Steve Trevor appeared in the setting of the animated film where he was voiced by actor Jeffrey Donovan.
