History

In 2009, a young boy called Caleb began recieving visits from the mysterious Strangers in their human guise as men wearing trenchcoats. During these encounters, the child begins to hear their overlapping telepathic whispers. They were also approaching the daughter of Diana Wayland, Abby who also heard their eerie whispers. During the number of incidents occuring at the time, the Strangers were confronted by Johnathan Koestler but disappeared in a flash of light rather than be caught by the human. When it was discovered that a massive solar flare would erupt from the sun and scorch the Earth of life, the Strangers quickly moved to abduct Caleb and Abby when Diana Wayland attempted to shelter them within the caverns. However, as Diana attempts to pursue the Strangers, she is killed when her vehicle is broadsided by a truck.

When John Koestler tracks the Strangers and the children to Lucinda's mobile home he discovers the flowing space craft of the aliens which descends from the sky. At this point, the Strangers remove their human disguises and appear in their true glowing translucent forms. Its quickly revealed that the aliens were only saving those that could hear their telepathic call who would be spirited to their starships and taken away from the coming destruction. The child Caleb, however, was reluctant to part with his father but John managed to convince him to go with the Strangers. Saying a farewell to his father, Caleb and Abby are taken to the alien vessel which depart the Earth with a number of other fellow ships after which the solar flare erupts kills of humanity.

On an unknown planet, the Strangers deposited the children onto a beautiful garden world in order for the species to thrive once more.

Overview

The appearance of the race was that of a translucent humanoids with clear skin and no discernable features. Their glowing bodies give them somewhat angelic qualities. The see through nature of their skin allowed others to see some form of brain structure within their heads. In addition, by their shoulder were small protrusions which, when combined to the glowing properties of their bodies, made it appear as if they had wings.

The Strangers are revealed to be a telepathic race who were capable of sending out whispers that could only be heard by select beings. Those that were capable of hearing these mind calls were deemed to be fit to survive in the eyes of the alien species. Its possible taht they were able to use telepathy as a means of disguising themselves as humans.

The motivations for the Strangers remains complete unknown.
