Stratellites (G. I. Joe)

Stratellites were a type of technology that featured in G.I. Joe Resolute.

Background

They were noted as barely in a prototype stage which contained a core that consisted of a helium balloon and made of highly tough material called thermal plastics. They were launched below the ionosphere with a large number of them allowing an organization to remain in contact, even if the ionosphere was blocked by charged particles in the ionosphere preventing radios from truly working.

Cobra made use of stratellites which they deployed below the ionosphere after which they unleashed a particle cannon that made communications around the world impossible. However, with the stratellites, Cobra was able to remain in contact and coordinate their operatives around the world.
