Biography
Sylvester Pemberton
In the years he disappeared, his estate passed on to his relations with people believing that Sylvester had vanished. It later fell into the hands of his nephew Arthur Pemberton who used the family fortune for nefarious purposes. (All-Star Comics v1 #71)

Personality and attributes
He had a nephew by the name of Arthur Pemberton who sought power and wanted to become the richest person in the world through a life of crime. This saw him become the leader of a criminal organization he called the Strike Force with himself holding the position of Number One. (All-Star Comics v1 #71)

- Sylvester Pemberton was created Jerry Siegel and Hal Sherman where he made his first appearance in Action Comics v1 #40 (September, 1941).

- In Smallville, Sylvester Pemberton appeared in the live-action television series two part episode "Absolute Justice" where he was portrayed by actor Jim Shield.
- In Stargirl, Sylvester Pemberton appeared in the live-action television series set in the DC Universe where he was portrayed by actor Joel McHale. Pemberton was said to had seen his parents attacked by criminals and went to protect them with this leading to him becoming a masked superhero. Initially, he was the Star-Spangled Kid and was assisted by the family's mechanic Pat Dugan whereupon he eventually took the mantle of Starman after gaining the Cosmic Staff.
